Particip, in partnership with Helvetas Bhutan, is looking for a National Expert (Bhutan) Database Developer and Trainer for our EU-funded project: EU Technical Assistance - Strengthening Local Governance, Decentralisation & Gender Mainstreaming (Bhutan).
Role and responsibilities:
Requirements
National Expert
Education:
- Graduate university degree (Master degree or equivalent qualification) in relevant technical area(s).
Experience:
- 10+ years professional work experience in database systems’ design and development and producing associated documentation, including in developing countries.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of training courses is preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in SAARC countries
- Excellent oral and written English (C2 level)
- Experience of Ruby programming language.
- Experience of and Laravel programming framework
Skills:
- Good facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Additional information
Location: Thimphu, National Consultant with approximately 2 to 3 onsite missions to other areas of Bhutan possible
Work days: 30 days intermittent over Jan to June 2026 period.
