Support the European Union (EU) Delegation to Myanmar's efforts to increase engagement with key audiences in a meaningful and conflict-sensitive way, in order to demonstrate the EU’s support to the people of Myanmar and promote EU values.
Job description
The Public Relations Manager will act as close collaborator to the TL. She/He will have a key role when it comes to liaising with already existing networks, and support in expanding them, as well as in creating content and overseeing the development of outsourced content that is adapted to the Myanmar audience.
Requirements
Qualifications and skills:
- Master Degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, International Relations, Development, or another related field;
- Or in absence of a Masters, an undergraduate degree in the above mentioned disciplines, with an additional 3 years relevant professional experience on top of the professional experience listed below;
- Or in the absence of an undergraduate and Master degree in one of the above mentioned disciplines, at least 6 years professional experience on top of the professional experience required below;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Burmese (C1 level).
General professional experience:
- At least 3 years experience in the field of communication, public relations, organizing events, liaising with different stakeholders for network building.
Specific professional experience:
- At least 2 years experience working on digital/ social media and online communications campaigns.
- At least 2 years experience working for international organisations, international nongovernmental organisations, private sector, or Embassies, as an employee, implementing partner or service provider.
- At least 3 years experience in social media management in crisis-contexts, media outreach and monitoring and developing conflict-sensitive content and communication strategies, including on post-Coup Myanmar.
- Professional experience of the following types will be taken into account positively:
- Project management under EU procedures, and knowledge of EU visibility requirements;
- Work experience in other South East Asian countries.
