For our head office in Freiburg, Germany, we are currently seeking a Junior Project Manager (m/f/d) in the area of public sector support and/or economic development. Starting as soon as possible, ideally October/November 2026. The position is offered on a fixed-term basis provisionally until 30 June 2028.

Job description

As a Junior Project Manager (JPM), you will play a key role in supporting the management of our international cooperation projects and our business development activities.
This is a hands-on entry into international project management with a clear development perspective. You will work alongside experienced project managers and gradually take on increasing responsibility for your own projects, clients and international teams. Our approach focuses on fostering a culture of selfresponsibility and supporting the professional growth of our staff.
As our Junior Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the management of our larger projects (technical and contractual management, financial control)
  • Gradual responsibility for the management of smaller projects
  • Monitoring and support (technical and administrative) of our international project teams worldwide
  • Liaison and networking with clients, implementation partners and service providers worldwide
  • Contribute to winning new projects by identifying experts and partners and preparing technical proposals
  • Support the operational and logistical management of international project and business development activities

Requirements

Academic background:

  • Master’s degree, ideally in Public administration, International development, Political sciences or Economics  
Professional experience:
  • First project management experience in international cooperation, acquired within an international cooperation agency and/or an internationally operating consultancy firm
  • Additional work or study experience abroad would be a strong asset 
Soft skills:
  • Initiative, ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent self-organising skills
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and writing skills
  • Strong intercultural and communication skills 
Languages:
  • English: very good (minimum requirement C1)
  • French: good (minimum requirement B2)  
IT skills:
  • Strong command of Word and Excel
