The overall objective of this action contributes is to support the protection of the environment, improve its quality and contribute to actions and policies aimed at biodiversity conservation in Serbia.
Description de poste
The expert will support the identification, validation, designation and management planning of Natura 2000 sites in Serbia, with a particular focus on large carnivores and other mammal species. Key tasks include reviewing and harmonising species data, identifying information gaps, supporting targeted field verification, preparing and revising Standard Data Forms (SDFs), participating in biogeographical seminars, and contributing to Natura 2000 management planning. The expert will also develop methodologies for the conservation and management of large carnivores and other mammal species, including conservation status assessment, identification of pressures and threats, conservation objectives, and management measures. In addition, the expert will contribute to the preparation of Management Plans for selected Natura 2000 sites by assessing species and habitats, supporting fieldwork, and providing technical inputs for conservation measures. Where required, the expert may also contribute to the development of CITES permit software and related training.
