The Technical Assistance contributed to improve the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of external assistance in the Central African Republic in order to increase its impact on economic and social development, according to the Poverty Reduction Strategy and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Through direct support to the National Authorising Officer Support Unit (CAONF III), the TA aimed at achieving three results:

• The capacities of the NAO (Result 1) and the project supervisors (Result 2) of projects and programs financed by the European Development Fund in the field of programming, identification, formulation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation projects are strengthened.
• The necessary conditions for the establishment of an effective dialogue on the strategic monitoring of the progress of the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) and of sectoral policies and strategies are established.

The TA was focused on training, in the form of training sessions, supplemented by on-the-job-training meaning the support during the execution of the tasks to be fulfilled by the services of the NAO and other stakeholders in the Central African Republic.
