Technical assistance to the EU-Egypt Innovation Fund projects and innovation clusters, and support of centre components including assessment of proposals, mentoring, monitoring and capacity building of funded projects in the frame of the RDI II project.
The consultant will have to provide short-term expertise for proposal assessments, as well as long- and shor-term expertise for mentoring and monitoring of the selected actions and provide for the necessary training and capacity building of selected beneficiaries mainly under component 1 (the component 1 serves to establish an innovation support unit which administers the EU-Egypt Innovation Fund. Therefore it will be in charge of industrial needs identification and assessment, launching and implementation of innovative applied research projects on a competitive basis, emphasising innovative ideas addressing the national thematic priorities and industry needs. This should further enhance collaboration between academia and industry) and also some support activities under component 3 (the component 3 is designed to assist the government in upgrading the research capacities in existing centres of excellence, launching competitive calls for capacity building and creation of spin-offs from existing centres of excellence).
