Job description
Working days: 50
Specific activity: EU Sustainability Regulations in India – CBAM: Impact Study
Activity Background and Context: The European Union (EU) is actively working towards achieving its climate neutrality goals, with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) being a crucial regulatory instrument. The CBAM aims to prevent carbon leakage by imposing a carbon price on imported goods from countries with less stringent climate policies. As a key trading partner, India has a vested interest in understanding and adapting to these upcoming regulations. In this context, a joint EU-India initiative is proposed to foster collaboration in research, development, and innovation, focusing on decarbonization and sustainable industrial practices. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a key component of the EU Green Deal, aimed at preventing carbon leakage and ensuring that imported goods are subject to the same carbon costs as domestically produced goods.
Role and responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead initiatives related to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), ensuring successful implementation and adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Strategic Guidance: Provide expert advice on the implications of CBAM for MSMEs, focusing on risk mitigation, compliance, and leveraging opportunities.
