The action aims to support the European Union, represented by the EU Delegation in India, in its endeavour to continue to strengthen the EU as a global actor in the context of the Strategic Partnership with India, by shaping a favourable context for EU-India dialogues, setting the stage for continued productive bilateral relations and advancing the EU’s policy priorities in India, as agreed through the EU-India Strategic Partnership and the Roadmap 2025.

Job description

The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project, strategic planning and programming of project activities, ensuring coherency between project components, review of proposals for project activities, drafting of the ToRs for project activities and their realisation, and implementation and monitoring of project activities. S/he will act as the main interlocutor for the EU Delegation to India in the day-to-day management of the contract, reporting on activities, will be tasked to prepare materials for and coordinatewith the EUD in Delhi, and will be responsible for achievement of the project’s objectives. S/he will be directly in charge of coordination of project activities with the support of the selected Non-Key Experts. S/he will ensure smooth implementation and proper visibility of all activities conducted under the project to the highest quality standards. The role of the TL will be particularly important and hence special attention will be paid to the profile and to coordination and communication skills of the proposed candidate. The TL will need to demonstrate a proactive approach to work, and be in constant contact with the EUD Project Manager (FPI) and relevant services to facilitate the translation of policy priorities into concrete activities.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills

  • University master degree in communication, journalism, political or social sciences or related discipline or equivalent;
  • Excellent English expression both orally and in writing;
General professional experience
  • Minimum ten (10) years of post-graduate professional experience in international context.
  • At least ten (10) years experience in public diplomacy / cultural diplomacy/ business communication / public relations, policy dialgue;
  • Minimum five (5) years of post-graduate professional experience in project management as a project Team Leader.
  • Minimum five (5) years of post-graduate professional experience of working on application of EU policies;
  • At least five (5) years experience in implementing diplomacy/communication campaigns/events for international organisations or governments;
  • Previous experience working in India on communication and/or diplomacy will be considered as asset;
  • Extensive knowledge on the media sector and landscape (TV stations, radio stations press or print media) in India.
Specific professional experience
  • Proven skills in drafting press releases, reports, and other documents;
  • Working experience on Web/Social Media/ICT;
  • Previous professional experience of working in India or related to India (preferably with Indian public authorities) is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Hindi will be considered as an asset
