Senior Expert – Peace Education, Intercultural Dialogue & Stakeholder Cooperation

Particip GmbH is looking for a senior expert to support an EU-funded project in Cyprus aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue, cooperation, and peacebuilding through education stakeholders.
The expert will contribute to the design and implementation of activities including:
- Providing technical and thematic input on peace education, intercultural dialogue, reconciliation, and social cohesion in education contexts
- Supporting the design and facilitation of an international study visit to an EU Member State, including identification of relevant best practices
- Contributing to the conceptualisation and delivery of an international conference on peace education and intercultural dialogue
- Supporting stakeholder dialogue and professional exchange among teachers’ unions, educators, civil society actors, and policymakers
- Contributing to the drafting of:
- a collection of best practices on peace education and intercultural dialogue
- a joint Action Plan for continued bi-communal cooperation
- practical guidelines and tools for integrating peace education and intercultural dialogue into teaching and capacity-building activities
Requirements:
- Proven experience 10+ years in at least two of the following areas:
- Peace education
- Intercultural dialogue and reconciliation
- Education in conflict-affected or divided societies
- Civil society dialogue and stakeholder facilitation
- Demonstrated experience working with education stakeholders, such as teachers, teacher unions, schools, education NGOs, or education authorities
- Experience contributing to workshops, conferences, study visits, or dialogue-based processes
- Familiarity with EU-funded projects or international donor programmes is a strong asset
Skills & Competencies: - Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work in politically sensitive and bi-communal contexts with neutrality and cultural sensitivity
- Strong analytical and drafting skills, with experience producing concept notes, reports, action plans, or guidelines
- Excellent command of English (working language of the project)
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multidisciplinary team
- Local languages will be considered a strong asset
